Doug Lewis, Co-Owner & Winemaker
A Texas native with roots in Elgin, Doug began working with Pedernales Cellars in the 2009 vintage working his way up from harvest intern to a part time cellar position, filling in as a tour guide and in the vineyard as needed.  In 2010 he started his label with a 650 case production from the loft in Pedernales’ cellar and by 2012 operations were moved to the current location where the vision continues to grow. 

Duncan McNabb, Co-owner & Winemaker
Doug and Duncan met in 2008 playing soccer, then got his start helping Doug at Pedernales in 2009 and 2010. Duncan continued on as the Lewis Wines project started in 2010, with his background in chemistry proving to be valuable as the production grew.  After graduating from Texas State in San Marcos, he moved to the winery to work full-time.

Adrienne Ballou, Winemaker                                                                   Growing up in Austin, Adrienne fell in love with wine after her first harvest in Walla Walla Washington.  She completed her B.S. in Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis and headed to Burgundy to stage at Domaine Antonin Guyon under a fellowship from the Chevaliers du Tastevin. After France, Adrienne decided to jump into beer and ran the barrel and fruit re-fermentation program at Jester King Brewery for three years.  She eventually decided to return to her true passion and headed to Australia for another grape harvest. Upon returning to Texas, Adrienne immediately began work with Lewis Wines.

Jana Walker, Wine Club Manager
Jana started at Texas Hills Vineyard in Johnson City, where she managed the tasting room for 3 1/2 years.  She earned her International Wine and Spirits Guild Level 1, and is currently pursuing her Level 2 Executive certification.  Jana started working with us in March of 2016, just in time for our wine club season.

Jared Hunsaker, Tasting Room, Vineyard & Cellar Team             Originally from Corpus Christi, TX,  Jared worked at Louie's Bar and Grill in San Marcos while getting his Economics degree from Texas State University.  He joined the crew in April, 2016, and immediately brought his skills to the table.  Jared is quick on his feet, easily adapts to new roles, and has the ability to make anyone laugh!  His good-natured attitude brings life to every facet of his work at Lewis Wines. 

 

 

 

 

 

Jorge Ruelas "Just call me George", Vineyard Manager, Cellar Team
Another Texas native, Jorge joined the Lewis team in late 2012 after meeting Doug and Duncan playing soccer together.  Jorge proved a fast learner and natural fit with the crew.  He quickly became a strong leader in both the cellar and vineyard and is an integral part of wide ranging day-to-day operations.

Kyle Gholson-Ruelas, Tasting Room, Vineyard Team
On a visit to Texas wine country from her home in Mississippi, Kyle inquired about an internship while tasting at Lewis Wines. She got a jumpstart before the age of 21 when she traveled to France to become a French Wine Scholar and certified with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (level 3, Advanced). Bringing her wine knowledge and willingness to learn, she became a permanent crew member following her 2013 harvest internship.
